Hi,

a few weeks ago I downloaded a program off the net, but somehow I got more
than I bargain for.
Now everytime I launch IE it will go my home page, then a few moments later
a new window appears and it tries to go to this following site
http://xlime.offeroptimizer.com/close.html I have tried everything short of
a format c:\ to try and prevent this page from loading.

does anybody know where IE scripts/commands/ or whatever will make this
thing here launch, are located in XP Home so I can track this down on the
system and delete it.

any suggestions are welcomed

Thankyou
Fred

Download CWShredder from
http://209.133.47.200/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe and see
if that helps. This I jotted down from another
forum "OfferOptimizer is a tenacious little SOB. It gets
into your index.dat files, and you can't delete them if
you are "logged in" as that user. You need to log in as an
uninfected user, and delete EVERYTHING under \LOCAL
SETTINGS for the infected user. AdAware does not do it.
Spybot S&D does not do it". Hope this helps.
