Problems with Hyperlink to an Exchange Public Calendar

Published a Intranet web from a Windows 2000 Server Running Running IIS 5.0
and Front Page Server Extensions 2000 to a 2003 Web Server Running 2002
Server Extensions. The entire web is fine with the exception of 8 hyperlinks
that each point to a directory holding specific xnk (exchange shortcut) files
that relate to Public Conference Room calendar files.

Prior to the web moving clicking on the hyperlink would result in a question
as to whether you wanted to open the save the file; giving the Name (*.xnk)
type (Exchange Shortcut) 364 bytes; From local IP address; If you select
open it would open an Outlook Calendar view; now they error out.

I can Remote into the Web server and navigate to the directory where the
shortcuts reside via explorer double click on the xnk files and get the
proper calander file open. I can do the same from my desktop, however when I
attempt it via the web page hyperlink; I get the page cannot be found HTTP
404 ; http://win/Calendars/Conference Room 3-A.xnk .

Not sure what I am doing wrong as these were working fine until the web was
moved. Any help would be appreciated.

Thx DonS

The following is just a possibility and not a concrete answer:

you might want to go into IIS and right click the website, hit properties,
then home directory tab then down in the application settings box click the
configure button and see if that extension is added to the list.

The reason I thought of it was because we were fooling around with some
"proprietary" file extensions and had to get the server admin to list them
there or modify something in that general area.

PS
Also try removing the spaces from the filenames/ links

Thanks - Though the issue was with web MIME settings. Spent 3 hours on the
phone with M/S and the IIS lead finally figured it out. I needed a specific
entry for .xnk files set for application/octect-stream.

Thx Again DonS
