Problems with hp printer

I have an HP 810C printer. Every time printer is switched on it seems to
stall after about 10 secs. If left for at least a minute it will spit out a
blank page and be ready to print. If I press the purge buttom (which is
blinking) the blank page ejects and the printer is ready to print. All this
seems to have started when I upgraded to XP sp2. Any ideas?

Ideas? - Yes. You obviously did not read recommendations before installing
SP2. It recommends that you disconnect everything except your monitor,
keyboard and mouse. You now have your printer installed with two (2)
identical drivers. When you activate the printer it goes to the first one and
spits out a blank page and then to the second one. Recommend you uninstall
the printer and clean out the drivers and then reinstall it. Go to Control
Panel.
In the Printer and Faxes window, pull down the File menu and choose
Server Properties. All your drivers will be listed there under the
Drivers tab. Usually when you reinstall a printer, you will be
asked if you want to keep an existing driver. If you choose No, you
get the opportunity to browse for another one or choose Have Disk.

No I didn't read the recomendations as the SP2 upgrade was done at a repair
shop but I will try your solution. Thank you.
