I saved several files on 3.5" floppy disks (brand new,
formatted for Windows 2000/XP). I formatted each disk
before use, in case there were any problems with them out
of the box and copied my files onto them just fine. Now
that I've completed my restore I am in the process of
copying those files back onto the HDD. The problem is
that the first file on each disk (no matter what order
they are listed in; alphabetically, date modified, etc.)
will NOT copy or move over. I get two different errors,
that seem to vary from disk to disk. The first one reads
as "Error reading from specified file or disk". The
second error reads as "Cannot copy/move <filename>. Data
error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)". To be honest, this
happens no matter what floppy disk I use on this XP
machine. And yes, I have tried several 3.5" drives, but
to no avail. The only floppy disks that XP seems to read
are FAT16 and FAT32 formatted disks, and only then if said
disks were formatted on a Windows 3.1 or Windows 95
machine. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
