problems with file search on XP

Having trouble with my file search in XP. When searching for a file by
partial name or exact name, my search results in no results found. If I
reboot the computer, I can sometimes complete one search and acquire results.
This is getting frustrating and I am hoping someone has a fix. Thanks!

The searching function in XP is lame at best. I suggest you use the free
Agent Ransack instead. I put it on all my XP machines.
