Problems With Email After Updating To SP1 For Microsoft Office 200

Hello,

I updated to SP1 and when I try to check my email using Outlook 2003, the
program hangs up, as if the the settings are not correct. I have the exact
same settings as before I updated, and in fact, my Outlook Express, with the
same settings sends and receives just fine.

Is there something in the SP1 update that "changes" something I can't see?

Here are the error messages when I try to send/receive in Outlook 2003:
Task 'Frank Sinclair - Sending' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation
timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you
continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or
Internet service provider (ISP).

My email settings in Outlook are exactly the same as in Outlook Express,
including pop and smtp server addresses, yet Outlook gets hung up and Outlook
Express does not.

All the other programs in the Office Suite: Powerpoint, Excel, and MS WORD,
work fine.

Thank you for any assistance, as it is tough to go back to Outlook Express
after using Outlook for as long as I have.

Hey y'all,

I must have been in a 70's daze. As it turns out, updating to SP1 ended up
with my ZONE ALARM settings to change the access permissions. Once I allowed
access, duh, I was able to use Office Outlook email with no problem.

Sorry to waste anyones time with the previous post.
