Problems with cer file registration

Hello!
I have a problem with cer files on my Windows XP Professional Edition
Version.

Everytime I doubleclick on a cer file the "Open with" dialog appears
rather, than the dialog, with the certificate information. Also the entry
"Crypto-Shellextension" (not sure, if it's called like that in the English
version of Win XP, as I have only the German version) is missing.

I have allready checked in the system registry, but all the entries under
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CERFile\shell\command are the same as on another Win XP
machine I have (where double clicking on cer files works).

I've tried sfc /scannow, repairing Win XP, "updating" it again,
reinstalling Internet Explorer, Unregistering and re-registering
cryptext.dll, but nothing helped. I still can add certificates from within
Internext Explorer, but it would be nice, if I'd also be able to view them
by doble clicking on the file.

Hope someone can help me with this.

No didn't help. I'm still getting the "Open with" dialog instead of the
certificate view.

Any other ideas?

Sorr<. I'm not that familia with newsgroups. I've posted my question, as
well as the awnser I got so far.

The entry in my registry allready existed. Removing it and addiong it
again didn't change anything. Has anyone else an idea?
I guess I'd just need to get that "Crypto Shellextension" entry back
into the "Open with" dialog. But I could not find any refference to it
on my other Windows XP PC, so I could just copy it over.

Quoting is good. Hiding your new message inside the quote characters is not
a good idea. Most folks will think you sent a blank reply with only the
quoted text and no new message.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\1033

Office10 is Microsoft Office XP. The 1044 folder is Norwegian (Bokmll).
1033 is English. getup.help may very well be SETUP.HLP. The title of
SETUP.HLP is Microsoft Office Setup: Troubleshooting Installation from
Compact Disc Media. Curious as to how that applies.
