Problems with absolute positioning and hyperlinks

After changing the positioning of some of my tables to "absolute" I then made
some of the pictures inside the table to be hyperlinks. The problem is that
as the cursor moves over the pictures it only turns to a "hand" indicating
hyperlink randomly over the picture. If you visit my test page at
http://www.hlstudio.com/Liturgical/Chasubles/AdventLent.htm
you will see what I mean. How do I correct this problem? Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Using IE7, I cannot find any problems with images as hyperlinks, or the
hand cursor being random.

There are problems:
1) The top navigation menu disappears if JavaScript is turned off - up
to 10% of internet users have JavaScript disabled (according to stats on
several sites, including www.w3schools.com, www.thecounter.com ).

2) Use of VML graphics (text boxes) will cause problems in non-IE
browsers. These will either not show at all, or will be rendered as
poor quality .gif images.

3) RavennaDetail.jpg is missing.
