Problems while copying over profile from local to domain...

I have two profiles one a domain profile and the
other is a local profile. I am trying to copy over the local profile to the
domain profile using the copy to.. function. The copy over starts but it
gives me a message that says that a file called desktop.ini cannot be moved
from local profile to the domain profile due to access rights. I checked all
the rights and everything is fine. I changed the permissions of the local
profile so that Everyone has full control of it. Plus I also changed the
permission of that file that the message comes up for..I changed so that
everyone has full control of it. When the message comes up it stays for about
20 seconds and goes away and the copy over funtion stops. I went back and
noticed that only half of the profile was copied over. I log on as myself
using my domain ID and I have admin rights on the domain. Let me know what to

Hi

Instead of copying the profile files, try this instead:

We solve this by (in the registry) changing the profile path for
the new user to point to the old user's profile folder (the user
needs to log on at least once first).

If the user is not a local admin, you might need to to something on the
permission side. Use tip 4631 and 2240 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at
http://www.jsiinc.com as a guide.
