Problems to execute an .exe file through the network

I try to execute an .exe file through the network. I’ve got all permissions
(full control) to access the files on the directory where the .exe file is
localised
I still recieve the message “Windows can not access the specified device,
path, of file. You may not have the appropriate permission to acces the itemâ€.

We can acces or edit all type of files with different extensions except
files with the extension .exe.

If I copy the file to a local disk, I can execute the file.
It doesn’t make a difference on what workstation (network path) the file is.
If I try to execute the file with an other workstation through the same
network path then I succeed.

What could be the problem?

Hi Dion,

I think you have some security software running in the background,
such as Norton Security or Mcafee security. They usually prevent users
from executing files over the network. It could also be possible that
the executable you are trying to run might itself have some settings
that prevent it from running over the network. Any extra information
would be useful.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Taha
