It seems I can access my WinXP Pro computer from my Win2kPro computer
(creating Network places/read/write), but I can not access my Win2kPro box,
in the same ways, from my WinXP Pro box - - -

I also can't add the win2kPro shared printer on my WinXP pro computer - - I
always tells me the network path is not found.

I'm confused

Follow up - I have tried it with or without the Firewall (WinXPpro)
adding a network place - - typing in \\computername\sharename - -
I get the error:
"the folder you entered does not appear to be valid"

Though, the Win2Kpro box is where the internet connection is coming from and
I can get to the internet with no problem.

Please reply to this message in the news group (not by E-mail) with
more information to help other people understand the problem.

How are you trying to access your Win2kPro box from the WinXP Pro box?

What exactly happens when you do it? If there's an error message,
what does it say?

From My Network Places:
Add a new Network place
type in \\computername\share name
"The Folder you entered does not appear to be valid"

But - it is valid - double and triple checked

If I try to browse to it, instead of implicitly typing the share in, I see
the computer in the tree, but no shares below it.

Also - trying to add a new printer - I see the Win2kPro machine - but it
doesn't show the printer attached to it at all and will not let me select
anything - the OK button is disabled.

Thanks for the details. I'm not sure what the problem is. I'd try
un-sharing and then re-sharing the folder and the printer.
