Problems removing and upgrading programs

I recently upgraded to Acrobat Reader 6.2 and when I go into add/remove
software and try to delete the old 6.1 I get this error message "This version
of Windows is not supported. Should upgrade to SP2. When I try to upgrade
from Windows support I get a missing file during the beginnin of the install.

While in there I saw a program that I did not recognize "Maxathon Browser"
and tried to remove but got this message "NSIS Error "Error Launching
Installer.

I just upgraded to Office 2003 and when I try to load the MS Outlook
Personal Folder Backup program I get this error. I get this message. "Error
creating <D:\Docmen~2\Locals~1\Temp\LAUNCHER.EXE>. REason: The system cannot
find the file specified.

Questions are: How can I remove a program from the computer that add/remove
will not remove?

Any idea what files I am missing?

I appreciate any help I can get.
