I am using an my old NTL account to receive mail only on WM. If I go to
send/receive like I use on my old laptop to receive the mail, it shows and
error saying some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks. The
only way I can get my mail is going manually to the drop down arrow by the
the send/rec button and pressing receive all. I have checked all the ticks
are in place on accounts and tools and everything seems to be in place. Can
anyone help please. Thanks.

Does the error appear when you click on Send All?
Is there a message stuck in the Outbox?

Hi Gary
It appears to work when I do Send all, there doesn't seem to be any messages
stuck in the out box.

That rules out the more common causes.
Some folks who posted here reported odd results when clicking on
Send/Receive. This can be caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Windows Mail is not compatible with
most McAfee and Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like:

AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning option.
