problems printing in quicken

in windows xp when i try to print from quicken windows
acts as though it is printing but does not. no error
message comes back
 
We're using Quicken 2001, so of course it could be upgraded. But Quicken
2003 seems to exhibit a similar problem. The intuit website has others who
have the problem - and Intuit says it is XP's fault - and one solution is to
use a Windows 98 printer driver on XP. Has anyone run into this before, and
can we do that without messing up the regular printer drivers?
