I am unable to log in to any membbership website. The odd
thing is that when I click on the link (or go directly to
the page) where normally it should ask me for my password,
it just skips right over that and gives me this page:

Authorization Required
This server could not verify that you are authorized to
access the document requested. Either you supplied the
wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser
doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while
trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

It may or may not have the "404 not found" part. So it
isn't that I'm supplying the wrong name or PW because it
seems to be skipping right over that part.
Also, this only started happening recently & it may just
be since I applied the Q832894 update. (I also applied the
Q831167 update). I have IE version 6.0.2800.1106IC

One more thing. This only happens on my laptop which is
hooked up to my network (I only have a desktop & my laptop
on my network) using Microsoft products, of course, with a
Microsoft MN520 wireless notebook adapter. Things work
normally on my desktop. Both use W98SE.

Hope you can help. Please!!! ;-)

Frank,
I sure do appreciate you responding to my dillemma.
Perhaps I'm an idiot, but i still can't figure this out.
Is it the website that must change its protocol to make
this work? I click on the members login link & even at
sites where I have not instructed ie to remember user name
& password, I get this error. Is there some setting in IE
that I can change to fix this? Or is it more complicated?
Thank you so much for helping.
