Problems of opening Excel 2002 worksheet on Excel 7(office 95)

I have laptop with Windows 98 and Office 95. When I try to open my data
recorded in Excel 2002(XP) an error message saying "it is not of correct
format" Any suggestions please. And how can I update office 95 to office 97?

You would need to save from Excel 2002 in Excel 5/95 format.
You might lose some functionality in the process.

For upgrade - why stop at 97?
It is no longer supported by Microsoft.
For any version prior to 2003 you would need to buy a copy second-hand; make
sure it is properly licensed.
