Problems installing Net Framework 1.1

When trying to download Framework 1.1 halfway through the installation stops
and fails with the following error message;

this KB art tells how to manually remove .net 1.1 and then reinstall it to
get around install issues. there are other arts re: similar problems
w/ .net installs, do a KB search for them if needed. good luck.
