Problems importing .csv files

I am using v.2003. When I have tried to import a .csv file, the commas

are included, requiring manual removal. Is there some way around this?

I think the import text system allows you to set the character used as a
separator. Is it currently a space ? Try setting it to a comma and see if
that helps.

I also recall that you can set more than one character as the separator ...
you might have a space and a comma in your file ? ... or 2 commas ?
Have a look at the import settings.
