problems e-mailing pictures from My Pictures

since upgrading to IE7 I seem to have problems and now cannot e-mail pictures
from the My Pictures site. This worked perfectly for many years, and all of a
sudden I am unable to send. The "would you like to make your pictures
smaller" box pops up, I choose that option, the picture downloads but the AOL
Write Mail does not appear. Any advice? AOL and Microsoft have given me some
(so far useless) suggestions to check the knowledge base etc.

Do you have the latest version of whatever AOL software you have installed?

So, no... 9.1 is the latest and who knows what compatibility issues it may
fix for you.

You will want (although I don't recommend AOL to anyone) the latest version
of the software so that you have a better chance at compatibility.

Gee, thanks very much Shenan. Am surprised that AOL did not notify me, but will upgrade immediately.
You also mentioned that you would not recommend AOL. What do you recommend
instead??? I have used AOL for many years and am used to it and have been too
lazy to try others. I don't particularly like yahoo nor MSN.

Dear Shenan: As you suggested I upgraded to AOL 9.1 and Hallelujah I can now
send pictures again from My Pictures. Thank you very much for your good
advice!!
You said that you do not particularly like AOL. Any suggestions which ISP is
good and troublefree (other than Yahoo and MSN)? Thanks again!

Yes, but I hope to move soon and will then see what the lokal offers are.
Presently I have dial-up.

Local phone companies generally will give you the best cost/service. (as
opposed to AOL or MSN)

To be honest - it is whomever gives you good service without requiring you
to install softweare on your computer(s) in order to connect to them and
utilize said service beyond what you would already have. That's what I look
for in a good Internet Service Provider.

Most of the time that is someone local. Lots of time it is the telephone
company (for dial-up and DSL) or the cable company (for cable modems.) Many
times for a -little-more $ than dial-up, you can get some sort of high-speed
Internet and the gains are enormous. They are not the same to everyone. I
have one lady who finally moved from dial-up to high-speed Internet and her
big points were not how much faster it was to get things off the Internet -
it was that it did not tie up her phone lines anymore and she was just 'on
the internet' instead of having to go through some special process to get
that way. Later it became "I can see the pictures without waiting for
dozens of minutes per picture!". *grin*

I avoid the big-names like MSN, Yahoo and AOL. Each for different reasons
(random example: I once thought AOL would be a good choice with their
software overlay if someone had children - as it turns out, it was worse.
Wthin 10 minutes of logging in with an account I created that had me as a 8
year old, I ended up using the software to get into a chat 'room' that was
anything but child friendly. I put no effort in to do so, just clicked on
what I saw.) As far as performance issues - I cannot say much other than my
experience with local telecoms and local ISPs is that they actually will put
forth effort to have your stuff working where the big guys - they will walk
you through a script - and when that fails - they send you to a new person
with a longer script.
