Problems at Start using Vista

Hello, I have been using vista for about 6 to 8 weeks now. The last 3 days
I've had trouble at startup. It is taking a long time and don't see my
desktop right away. I see the peronal photo I have on my desktop for a few
seconds then the screen goes white. It does this for long time. Whats weird
is that the AOL spyzapper comes up and trys to detect while the screen is
white.

I can see the start icon on the lower left corner and when I left click on
it a windows explorer warning comes up saying that the program is failing to
repond and do I want to continue or end program. When I choose end program
the desktop becomes "normal" but it won't show my Norton icon on the startup
bar on the lower right. I do think the Norton program is working though.
Simply put it is taking to many steps for me to get the computer going.

also I am having trouble with my Adobe reader 8. I have to re download it 2
or 3 times a week to watch youtube and such.

Try booting into Safe Mode and see if it runs any better. If it does, maybe
one of the programs that start with Windows (like Norton) is the culprit and
needs to be dealt with. I don't know much about AOL spyzapper but my gut
tells me you should get rid of it as well. There's something about software
with the name AOL attached to it...hmmm.

Since it's been happening for only the last three days, think about what you
may have installed three days ago and remove it. Or use System Restore to go
back to a time four days ago.

I'm not following you about Adobe Reader and YouTube...how do you use Adobe
Reader to watch YouTube videos? Do you mean some other application?

I mean't to say the Adobe Flash Player. This is what Youtube tells me to
re-install. When I do it sorks for a little while but after a few days I have
to do it again. I have actually had to do it more than once in a day. The
Youtube people tell me the problem is with windows or explorer.

Try this:

Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash, and right click FlashUtil9b.exe,
select Run as Administrator
