Hello,

I don't know if this is the correct forum, but here are my problems.
I have a Dell XPS 410 a year and a half old, Pentum dual core, 2 SATA
RAID(0) disks.
After upgrading to Win XP SP3 I get blue screen and a message that says "an
attempt was made to execute non-executable code"
I tried the usual, restore last known good configuration, safe mode, etc.
Eventually I got no video signal at all on boot. I have checked the monitor,
works on another computer.
Spent hours on the phone with Dell tech support, or the lack of it, with no
progress.
I even tried to have them send a tech to my house to fix it, just got the
run around.
Any suggestions?

Does the post-BIOS RAID utility still show,& are both functioning. If so,next
start-up,tap the F8 key,select safe-mode,enter xp as administrator,maybe
open event viewer for OS details..If you cant get that far, with xp retail
cd,id
say boot to cd,select recovery,type:CHKDSK C: /R But with dell,not sure if
that option exist.Or,boot to xp cd,select install xp,select fix this
copy...Either
way, next time you install SP2 or SP3,go to run, type:cmd In cmd type:
CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart, type:EXIT Then install the service pack.....

Thank you for responding Andrew, but as I said, I get no video at all,
nothing shows up on the monitor. So, I have no idea what is going on in the
machine.
The only evidence that at least part of POST is running is that the lights
on the DVD and CDROM drives flash briefly.
As I also stated, I have tried F8 and F2, and again no effect, the monitor
remains blank.

Thanks Mick,

The problem is that MS can't help me fix the Windows problem unless I can
see something on the monitor.
