Problem with Windows Installer

When I am restarting my computer, after my desktop loads, a window comes up
titled "Windows Installer" And a message that says "Pleasae wait while
windows configures PhotoGallery." As I am waiting and the window is
"gathering required information....", I then get a window that pops up saying
"The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk
that is not available. Insert the "PhotoGallery" disk and click OK."

It kind of gets stuck here as I don't ahve a CD with this program on it. I
cna cancel out of it and move on with no problems. Though I am having some
problems viewing some pics on my computer. My questions are:

Do I need this (PhotoGallery)? (I think so.)

How can I get it back? (Apparently, I had it at one time.)

Thank You,
M

Hi Mary
I had the same problem a few months ago. The first thing you need to do is
download Windows Installer Cleanup, run it and delete the PhotoGallery
entry.

Then you could reinstall PhotoGallery.
It seems to be free but you do need Movable Type 3.3 or greater.

Thanks, I downloaded the Windows Installer CleanUp and removed PhotoGallery.
I don't know what Movable type 3.3 is. Is this something I will need on my
personal home computer?

I don't know what Movable Type is. I don't have it and you certainly don't
need it. However if you want PhotoGallery it seems that you need it.

If I were you I wouldn't bother with either of them. If you want a free
program to look at / post process your photos then I would recommend either
Irfanview or Picasa.
