WINDOWS INSTALLER & PHOTO GALLERY

We had a few problems with our pc which we've now sorted however since then
every time we log on we get the following 'WINDOWS INSTALLER - PREPARING TO
INSTALL'. Nothing happens however long you wait. Also 'PLEASE WAIT WHILE
WINDOWS CONFIGURES PHOTO GALLERY' followed by 'THE FEATURE YOU ARE TRYING TO
USE IS ON A CD-ROM OR OTHER REMOVABLE DISK THAT IS NOT AVAILABLE' AND 'ERROR
1706 - NO VALID SOURCE COULD BE FOUND FOR PRODUCT PHOTOGALLERY. THE WINDOWS
INSTALLER CANNOT CONTINUE'. Any help in plain english would be brilliant as
i am not a computer whiz! Thank you.
By the way am running Windows XP.

Reinstall "photo gallery" cd,select install.Usually a repair takes place
auto,or
a window opens with other options,select "modify" if it shows.

I'm experiencing the same problem. The cleanup wont run b/c windows
installer is already trying to install photogallery and says that it must
finish that first......but it can't find the program. Help?

Try stopping the installer by Ctrl-Alt-Del, select Task List, then see if
you can terminate the installer from either Applications or Processes.

Failing that have you tried putting the Photo gallery CD in (I seem to
remember that this "extra" comes on the HP printer CD or possibly a scanner)
