Dear all,

I just bought myself a Canon scanner that is capable for USB 2.0.
I have XP installed with SP 1.
When I connected it and installed the scanner drivers, I noticed, that
the connection is working only with USB 1.1. The device manager shows
only " SIS 7001 PCI-to-USB driver", but no enhanced USB driver.
When I try to install the enhanced driver, I have to choose it
manually from incompatible hardware and the system shows error no. 10
- the hardware could not be started.
I have another Windws XP installed on the same computer (which I use
for backup via boot manager) and there the scanner runs with usb 2.0
!! The enhanced driver is there - So it cannot be a hardware problem.

Has anyone a glue, how I can reactivate my USB 2.0 in my first XP ?

I tried to de-install the drivers, install the SP1 again, removed all
other usb-devices and tried to install the SIS drivers for Win2K from
CD - but without success.

Any hint would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hatchii

Have you installed the driver for motherboard (actually -- inf-file for
SiS chipset), which has to be on the CD from motherboard (or probably
the newer version can be found at SiS site)?
