Problem with Time and Date

Hi

Every time I turn on my PC, it shows that time is 1 AM and that the date is
November 19th 2009. After 30 seconds, time restores to normal on it`s own,
but it gives me a lot of trouble with Virus database and other things. I have
tried in Regional settings and everything but it is still the same.

How to fix this problem?

Possibly:

Replace the battery on the motherboard.* This battery is responsible for
keeping the clock running when the computer is off. If dead, the clock
reverts to the default setting in the BIOS.

After you computer powers on, it interrogates a time server somewhere to
adjust the clock.

The part about Nov 19th is intriguing; often these clocks have a default
date of Jan 1, 1980.

Here's a thought.. go into the BIOS setup and change the time there.

Thanks for the advice. I have checked BIOS and time is right in it. I
watched it closely, and noticed something interesting. When Windows starts
up, for first two seconds, time and date are correct, then it changes to
above mentioned 1 AM and November 19th, and then it restores itself on his
own to correct time.

I`m not that much of an expert to change delicate pieces of hardware like
batteries on motherboard and stuff like that, but if that seems to be the
only solution, I would have to call a technician. Could it be some kind of a
virus? Thanks for your advices.

Something loading at Startup seems to be causing the change.. could be
malware, but it might not be. You could restart in Safe Mode and see if
what happens. Or use MSConfig to disable programs in the Startup
section to try and narrow down the cause. Once you find what program is
doing this, either remove it, reinstall, or change its preferences.
