problem with the upgrade advisor

Hi:
I am trying to install xp over w98. I read that it is
better to run the MS upgrade advisor to make sure of
hardware and software compatibility. When I run the
advisor everything goes fine until the program hangs up
and displays "dvd movie player" while it is searching
programs. I do not have a dvd player and I do not see
anything installed that has anything to do with DVD player.
I wonder if others had similar experiences and how they
got around.
I am running w98 on amd 500 mhz with 256 mb ram and 80 g
hard drive; ati all-in-one wonder video card.

Thanks foir your help. Look forward to your reply.

Hi KSK,

Certain configurations in Windows 98 will add a DVD Player entry in
the Multimedia components. To remove this entry, open Control Panel and
double click on the Add/Remove Programs icon. Click on the Add/Remove
Windows Components button. Select Multimedia from the list and uncheck the
"DVD Player" entry.

Good Luck,
