Hello,

I just downloaded all the available upgrades for the "Windows XP Home"
Operating System on my Compaq 2.5 MHz Celeron Desktop with 512 MB RAM.

Now, when I try to use "Disk Cleanup" in System Tools, the program opens
and just sits there forever saying that it's "compressing old files."

Anyone know how to fix this? I can't reload Windows because my computer did
not come with recovery discs, just a recovery partition on the hard disk.

Regards,
John E. Golden

Thanks Carey,

I went to kelleys-korner and downloaded and ran the registry fix as you
suggested and now my "disk cleanup" is working again.
