Problem with Sleep Key on Wireless Natural Multimedia Keyboard.

It work before I did a couple of upgrades. I've already diagnosed that it
wasn't the upgrade for Norton Internet Security, Norton Systemworks or Spy
Sweeper. I disabled everything and started them one by one. The key isn't
broken as other keys around it are working and, like I said, it was working
before. The ONLY other thing that I updated was the Windows Updates.

Can anyone please help me?

Yes, I rebooted, restarted, tried the Microsoft Configuration Utility,
disabled/reenabled services, disabledreenabled start-up programs, put new
batteries in the keyboard, resynced the keyboard, installed new drivers for
the keyboard AND the mouse (BTW, the mouse is a wireless optical Intellimouse
Explorer), diagnosed problems with Windows, et al. And still nothing.

ineThis ONLY effects the Power Button on the front of my systen, NOT the
Sleep Key on the keyboard. I've already tried that several times. I have a
funny feeling that it's the recent Microsoft Genuine Advantage garbage that
was installed last week.

I've tried everything. I've even narrowed it dow to being the WGA Programs
fault. Can anyone help?

FWIW, the WGA notification thing did NOT remove the Sleep key assignment
from the Power Options control panel on three of my computers here.

Given that the WGA QFE doesn't change any of the files related to the Power
Options control panel, I'd be surprised if that was the cause of your issue.

There's one option for the 'power' button and one for the 'sleep' button.
It's the sleep button assignment that controls what the sleep button on the
keyboard does.

If you do not have that option, then that in itself may be an issue.

Very nice... So I am confused. You have mapped your sleep function to
that key? Or your power button does not work?

I am unable to troubleshoot what I can't see...
