Problem with shortcut

I use Netscape 7.1-- When someone emails me a photo and I want to save it--I
would just click on 'save image as'--- the download manager screen would pop
up and allowed me to see what was being downloaded ---then the screen where I
save my photos' my pictures' would pop up and I would enter a filename for
that photo and it would save it in a file called 'my pictures'..
Now when I click on 'save image as' --(the download manager does not pop up
but the screen where I save my photos does)--I enter a filename and click on
'save' but the photo does not go into my file called 'my pictures'....The
only place it goes is in a file called 'my recent documents'.....When I click
on the icon of the picture that I just tried to save it says ' Problem with
shortcut'---The item 'rock.jpeg' that this shortcut refers to has been
changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work...
(my daughter told me that everytime someone does work in Wordperfect or
tries to download a Wordperfect document ,this happens) but she has no idea
what done to fix the problem...What ever it was only took a few keystoke
however....Hope someone can help us fix this problem...Thank you

This is a Netscape question, not a Windows XP question. If it was Internet Explorer,
you'd change the Download Directory using the Registry Editor. I don't use Netscape. If
there isn't a Preferences or Options item on one of the menus that allows you to select
the directory/folder for downloads, then you might check the Netscape Keys/Strings in the
Registry Editor. You might also search Google Groups, using the pertinent key words
and/or phrases.
