Problem with service pack 2

Guest

I recently purchased a new PC and waited a few weeks before I downloaded the
XP SP2. Well after it installed I had to reboot for the changes to take
place. Once I did that, my PC is constantly rebooting. It only shows the
WIN XP Splash screen and the dos screen with the choice of booting with WIN
XP or WIN Recovery Console. And then it reboots. Again. In a constant loop.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Tony

If you don't see any error messages, right click on My Computer, select
Properties and then the Advanced tab. Click on Settings under Startup and
Recovery and disable 'Automatically restart'. Next time your PC reboots,
you should see a Blue Screen. Could you please post the Stop Code from the
BSOD?

Also, please have a look in the Event Viewer to see if any entries there may
refer to the problem.

I would love to be able to do that. I couldn't last night The pc is
constantly rebooting. It never gets "opened" to a point where my desktop is
available. I will try to reboot in SAFE mode and do as you ask.
