Problem with Service Pack 2 accessing FTP server

JF

Since downloading XP Service Pack 2 last evening, I am
unable to access my FTP server. Whenever I try to
access the FTP website URL, I get the following error
message: "An error occurred opening that folder on the
FTP server. Make sure you have permission to access that
folder. DETAILS: A connection with the server could not
be established". I know the FTP site is functional
because I have full access using another computer on this
network (without SP2 downloaded). I have attempted to
manually open port 21 using the "Exceptions" in the SP2
firewall, although I admit I don't really understand the
TCP or UDP options? Next, I tried shutting off the
entire firewall itself. Nothing works. It is very
important that I can access my FTP server on this
system. Does anyone have any ideas? If not, any guesses
as to what problems might occur if I uninstall SP2?

Perhaps the troubleshooting information in this article may help:

You may not be able to open a project when you try to connect to a remote Windows XP
Service Pack 2-based computer by using the AutoCAD FTP service
