My environment is Active Directory. I have a file server running
Server 2003, and 2000 professional and XP (SP1) for clients. I've
setup some test accounts with roaming profiles.

I'm receiving the following error (or similar) on most of the clients:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date: 8/30/2004
Time: 10:51:26 AM
User: domain\username
Computer: COMPUTERNAME
Description:
Windows cannot copy file \\server\username$\profile\Application
Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\file\countdown.class-420ac436-11d6be9a.idx
to location C:\Documents and Settings\username.domain\Application
Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\file\countdown.class-420ac436-11d6be9a.idx.
Contact your network administrator.

DETAIL - Cannot create a file when that file already exists.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Of course, the file varies that is causing the problem. I've checked
permissions. Many of errors on accounts that are brand new with new
profiles.

Any help is appreciated.

Look for read-Only files within the profile.
