Problem with Reading pane

I have recently developed a problem with Outlook 2007. The reading pane
causes the program to crash. I can send and receive mail OK, it's just the
display and am also unable to open messages by double clicking on them. I
have run diagnostics which has not found any problems. I have run repair from
the install disk. I have un-installed and re-installed. I have then
un-installed - run regclean - then re-installed.

Still I have the same problem.

The error message refers to the outlook.exe version and the appMod
mspst32.dll in the report details, but no further advice is given.

Have you tried running scanpst.exe against your .pst file?

Hi Milly,

Thanks for your time. I have run scanpst several times and it does not
detect any errors. Other entries in the forum suggest it is a problem with my
..pst but i am not sure how to fix this without losing data.

i can veiw the message if i reply or forward. i can also turn on the reading
pane in an empty folder, like junk mail or spam after it has been cleaned out.

This is a very frustrating problem. I have contacted MS support, they
suggested an older update, but this had already been installed. I am a bit
fanatical about applying the latest updates.

Hi Sadiq,

I ran out of solutions so I ended up using a commercial product called
Advanced Outlook Repair.

http://www.datanumen.com/aor

I tried a lot of other things before this, including a data recovery program
i have, all to no avail - very frustrating!

I hope MicroSoft make a patch to fix this issue.
