Problem with Read Request

Hello.
I have a user who sent and e-mail with a "read receipt." She then received
a notification that the recipient deleted the e-mail without having read it.
She went over to the recipient and was told and shown that the e-mail was
read and was still in the Inbox. How can this be possible? Can anyone help
me on this one? Thanks.

Depends on the mail protocol being used. Which mail account type are the
sender and receiver using? Are they within the same domain?

Easy, the user deleted it knowing full well that the receipt would show
"deleted without being read" and then moved it back to the in-box and read
it.

I do it all the time as I despise people sending read receipts for the sole
purpose of checking on what you are doing and then calling you immediately
when they see the read receipt.

Thank you so much. Are there any other possibilities for what may have
caused this? Both users are in the same domain and both use Outlook 2003 via
MAPI to connect.
