Problem with outlook

Hi,

My outlook 2000 was working fine until yesterday. But today it froze
when downloading email from the server.
At first I tried restarting my computer, but that didn't fix anything.
Then I backed up my outlook.pst file, renamed my current outlook.pst
file and created a new account.the pst file for this account is
personalfolders1.pst.

Now I could download me email and send email, but i keep getting a
message saying that outlook couldn't file outlook.pst file.is this
because i named my new pst file as personalfolders1.pst.

would renaming it to outlook.pst solve the problem?
Also will it give me problems in importing my old outlook.pst which i
have renamed.?

Please help me figure this out.

Thanks

B

And thereby probably corrupted the mail profile.

Probably.

Never import from a PST. There's no need and you lose data. You'll need to
create a new mail profile, but exactly how is determined by whether you're
using OL 2000 in Internet Mode Only or Corporate/Workgroup mode. The second
line of Help>About will tell you.
