Problem with OpenNet GPS on SPV C500

Hi folks,

I've been playing with the OpenNetCF GPS classes to write a simple GPS
logging application. It works fine on an IPaq, but it doesn't seem to
detect the GPS device when run on my SPV C500 (HTC Typhoon) smartphone.
I'm guessing it's more of a problem with the way in which the GPS
device is registered on the phone rather than with the OpenNet
libraries.

I've tried using the auto-detection and fixed com ports, but neither
seem to allow the application to connect to the device. The auto-detect
goes thru ports 0,1,2,3,4,8 & 9 but I believe the GPS bluetooth
connects on port 6 or 7.

Any suggestions or should I get a new device?

Cheers

Chris

Chris,

Its port 7 on my SP5 and it works. Later model phone, but I would think the
ports would be the same. I'm not using OpenNetCF though as I'm using VS2005
SerialPort.

Thanks for the reply, it didn't help. After another day hacking away
and trawling the net, I'm getting the impression that setting up
bluetooth/gps on this particular device is beset with issues. I'll
chuck the phone and get something newer.
