Problem with Network Connection in xp

R

Ron Watts

I am having a problem with MS Windows xp. I have just
reinstalled xp after a major crash of my system and all
was going well with the reinstallation of programmes
until I tried to set up my internet connection. I go
into "create a new connection" and use the connection
wizard then select "connect to the internet",
select "setup my connection manually" only to find that
the "connect using a dial-up modem" option (which I
require) and "connect using a broadband connection that
requires a user name and password" are both greyed out
with "connect using a broadband connection that is always
on" being the only option. Your help in solving this
problem will be appreciated as I only have an ISDN
connection available at this time.

This is the usual culprit:

You Cannot Create a Network Connection After You Restore Windows XP

Re-apply SP1 is the usual fix.
