Problem with NAT on Windows XP

N

Nick Sawadsky

My customer has a problem on Windows XP enabling NAT.

We enable and start the Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) without problems.

Then type "netsh routing ip nat install" and get no errors.

Then try to add the wireless network connection in PRIVATE mode:

netsh routing ip nat add interface name="Wireless Network Connection" mode=PRIVATE

This returns the error message: "NAT must be installed first".

Even though NAT already appeared to install successfully.

Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this issue?

The closest thing you get to NAT in Windows XP is ICS. NAT is available on
server operating systems.
