Problem with my system

What can I do, if everytime I start Windows, my PC is like I have formatted
it? No changes are being saved and any document and file I save, when it shut
it off is lost? I have an IBM Thinkpad A21m 2628 GSS laptop with Windows XP
SP2. If anyone can help me, I wolud thank it, i am really living with this
mess and i cannot save anything.

PS. It is also too slowly.

IBM XP Recovery seems to run each time the system boots up. Did you recently
try to do a Recovery on your system???
