Problem with my Cd recorder

hi
i have a Samsung SM-348B CD-R/DVD, and it play cds fine, but i can't make
them. I have used multiple programs and they all say cd recorded
successfully. When i put the cds in a cd player or back in the computer it
dosn't work, it just says no disk. Would i have to reinstall the driver, and
if i do where can i get it?

Did you finalize the disc, or the session? Are you using the right
media? What happens when you put such a disk back into the writer you
created the disc with? What burning software are you using?
You'll need to provide more details before somebody can help you out.

match, and magix.
all of these had the same problem.
is it possable that the driver is bad or that i have a bad batch of disks,
because about a month ago it worked fine.

It doesn't sound like your CD writer, the discs or the writing
software is bad, otherwize you wouldn't be able to write to these
discs and see the files after doing so. Maybe there's something wrong
with these particular files you are trying to play. Could they be
corrupt? Do these same files play when you have them on your hard
disk? What type of files are they? mp3? What error message are you
getting when you try to play/open them?

Be sure that you are creating an AUDIO CD, if that's your intent - not a
data CD.

Most audio CD burning utils will automatically close those files after one
session - to ensure compatibility with standalone players - so have all
the tracks that you want to record ready to go in that ONE session,
because you will not be able to add to it later.

Are you possibly using drag&drop to make the CD? That is fine for data
backup, but will NOT make a music CD. For that you need software that has
an obvious option like "music CD". Both Easy CD Creator and Nero can do
this. However, I do not know whether the native XP CD writing software can
do it.

The simplest way to tell whether you have made a music CD or not is to get a
professionally made music CD that plays on the PC. Then, examine its files
in windows explorer. They should be of the form "trackxx.cda". The "cda"
extension is very important. Now look at your home-made CD. Does it have
"cda" files or maybe "mp3" or "wma" or "wav". If not exclusively "cda",
then it is NOT a music CD.
