Problem with Lock my Folder- access denied

Hi All,

Problem with Lock my Folder 1.5

Unlocked folder keeps saying access denied even after I unlock it or
even uninstall the program.

Tried Dougs advise with the security tab but it still wont show up on
properties. Am running XP SP 2. I really need to get my folders back.
Any advice? Why cant I get the security tab up?

How else can I open my folders. It has all my school work in it...so
frustrating.

Thanks, Steve

Not really a Windows XP issue?

Access Denied implies lack of ownership.

Take Ownership of said files...

If Windows XP Home - read CAREFULLY!

You are not running *just* 'Windows XP SP2' <- you are running Windows XP
(Home Edition, Professional Edition, Media Center Edition, Tablet Edition,
etc..) with SP2. Which is it? It actually makes a difference in the advice
you might get/attempt to follow. Especially between Windows XP Home Edition
and any of the other editions.

For example, if you are running Windows XP Home Edition, the first link
above I gave specifically states:
"If you are running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, you must start the
computer in safe mode, and then log on with an account that has
Administrative rights to have access to the Security tab."

So - reading carefully is good advice.

I bet.. Can you access your backup copies?

Sorry for the lack of detail, early here in Australia- still half
asleep.

Am running XP Pro SP2. Have tried to get owner ship back via the
security tab process but no luck. Went into file sharing on folders and
unchecked but still no security tab on properties.

Stupid me..wish I did have backup copies...

Any more advice, BTW that is the program you linked and have sent email
off to them for support but still nothing..

Thx Steve.
