problem with LAN

Hi everyone!
I have big problem with my LAN. I have 4 PCs connected by ethernet
cable. To simplify it I'll try to draw topology:

PC1 --FTP (1 m)-- SWITCH1 --FTP(50 m)-- SWITCH2 --FTP(50 m)-- PC3
PC2 --UTP(21 m)-- --FTP(70 m)-- PC4

The only difference between FTP & UTP cable is that FTP is shielded.
Cable between SWITCH1 & 2 is crossed-over, the others are straight.
Communication between PC1 & PC2 works absolutely fine (100 Mbps full
duplex). The PROBLEM is in long cables (those 50 & 70 meters). I can
use them only if I connect them directly to PC and set lower speed (10
Mbps half duplex). This speed would be fine, but I need four PCs
connected. This can be done only by 2 switches. But if switches are on
both sides of the cable, they automatically set the speed to 100 Mbps
full duplex. And then it doesn't work.
I tried to connect PC3 directly to SWITCH1 through 50 m long cable.
While 100 Mbps was set, cable appeared to be pluged, unpluged, pluged..
This state was changing approximately every 3 seconds. PC4 does exactly
same thing. It seems like the cable is disturbed by something else, but
is it possible if the cable is shielded? Other cause could be in the
length of cable, but in my manual for switch was maximum length 100 m
and in the shop they told me that it works up to 140 metres.
I don't know where is the problem. I'm really pissed about this
situation, because I invested my money and time and it doesn't work. If
someone will solve my problem I will worship him!!

Hi! Me again. Just want to specify the topology: PC1 & PC2 is connected
to SWITCH1, SWITCH1 is connected to SWITCH2, and finally PC3 & PC4 are
connected to SWITCH2.
