Problem with Joining Two Tables

J

Jason

I have linked two tables to my Access 2007 database from our ODBC. I then
am trying to create a query that joins the two tables. I am trying to join
the tables that have the same format of information but different field names
(Code_Procedure and Procedure are the two names). If I run the query without
them joined I get the information from the two tables. As soon as I join
them I get nothing and I know there is plenty of matches outthere in the two
tables. I have the exact same database on a seperate network and that is
running using Access 2000. The query works over there.

Please HELP!!!!

Hi Jason,

Thank you for using Microsoft MSDN Managed Newsgroup. This is Mark again. I
will help to assist you with the issue.

Based on the description, I understand that you have created 2 linked table
by ODBC, and when you run a query in a Microsoft Access database that joins
the 2 linked table, the query does not return any data. Is it correct? if
I misunderstand anything, please tell me. That will help us resolve the
issue quickly.

To better understand the issue, please confirm/collect the following
1 where are the 2 linked tables from? For example: are the 2 linked tables
SQL Server tables? or the 2 linked tables are access database tables?
Beisdes, If the 2 llinked tables are from SQL Server. There is an article
to share with you:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824169. The article might
help to resolve the issue.

2 if the 2 linked table are access database tables, I would like to
re-produce the issue. so please send me an example of the query and sample
of the access database. my email address is

3 are the 2 linked tables from same datasource?

Besides, I do some additional research for you. there are some article to
share with you. hope them helpful in the future.
