Problem with IE6

Please help
IE seems to be shitting out on me; I initially started to have problems with
Flash. All sites kept saying I didnt have flash installed but in actuality,
I did.
Natrually, i tried to reinstall flash, but to my luck, it did not work.

Now all other sites I visit are starting to have problems. Google analyics
graphs no longer show.

The commanlity between all these is that all sites (flash, google, etc.)
show a DEAD IMAGE as opposd to exactly what they nor, ally would show.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall IE and of course (as expected) it didnt
work - i cant unsinstal it :(.

Cant even install IE7
not sure what to do.

I'm not sure what Google uses to display the image in question, but let's
uninstall then reinstall Flash altogether. To uninstall Flash, see these
Macromedia sites:
http://www.macromedia.com/go/tn_14157 - using their uninstaller
http://www.macromedia.com/go/tn_12727 - manually

Now to reinstall Flash....

Do you have any toolbar or other helper application that blocks Flash? Some
toolbars that block pop-ups also have a Flash-blocker.

See this site for .reg file to make sure Flash is enabled in the registry:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm - line 363 on the left.
Download to your desktop and double-click to merge to your registry or right
click and choose Merge - or Edit to see exactly what modifications it will
make to your registry.

Check your security settings - Tools...Internet Options...Security tab,
click Internet Zone, click Custom, and make sure automatic downloads are
enabled. Ensure that "Download Signed ActiveX controls" and "Run ActiveX
controls and plug-ins" are not disabled.

If you are behind a proxy server or are in an administered network
environment - they may be blocking Flash.

If you are trying to install via a web page, try installing via the
downloadable installer:
http://www.macromedia.com/go/full_flashplayer_win_msi or
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/killbitblock/flashplayer7_ax.exe

This is a silent installer - you will get no feedback if the install is
successful. You can check for your Flash install status here:
http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/

Tools...Manage Add-ons...change menu to "Add-ons that have been used by IE"
and make sure that "Shockwave ActiveX Control" and "Shockwave Flash Object"
are set to "enabled".

If no joy with the reinstall:

Try posting your issue to the Macromedia Flash support forum:
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/categories.cfm?catid=184&forumid=44
As you'll see, you are not alone in having trouble installing Flash, and
they have support engineers there monitoring the group.

If you are having trouble with IE displaying other images...

Pictures Are Not Displayed on Web Sites in Internet Explorer

If no joy, see this site for possible help:

Display issues with IE are most commonly caused by video drivers that need
updating. Go to the web site of your video card manufacturer and get the
latest drivers for your card. As a work around, try turning down your
hardware acceleration, color depth, and/or screen resolution. If these
work, then new drivers are in order.

Other causes are scripting engines that need reinstalled or updated:

Or Java - http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

Thanks for the much needed replies. I've tried every step listed here and
none have resolved the issue. I dont know exactly what the problem is, but I
know for certain it is related to Internet explorer. IN fact, I am no longer
seeing any of the "Security Dialog box" windows anymore that I used t o see
every so often in the past.

I know the issue with google & Macromedia are related to IE, since both seem
to work fine in FireFOX & Netscape.

Is there any way to UNINSTALL and REINSTALL IE6 on SP2 WIN XP PRO? I tried
to uninstall it but IE still seems to load, even tho it is supposedly
uninstalled from add/remove programs.

I may have to just reinstanstall windows completely (seems that I am having
to do this every year or so anyhow).
any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
