Problem with HP Solution Centre on XP SP3

P

Peter Hardy

I have just purchased a couple of new HP MFP printers that come with the new
solution centre software for scanning, etc. The install processed fine and
printing is no problem but when I try and use the scanning software I get a
Microsoft error showing that the HP CUE-Scanning flow component has failed.
The extended message is as follows.

'Faulting application hpqkygrp.exe version 10.0.0.573, Faulting module
msvcr80.dll version 8.0.50727.762. fault address 0x00008a8c'

I have spoken to HP and gone through there solution but they are insistent
that the problem lies with Windows. I was wondering if anyone on the site
knows about this problem and how to fix it. In my own investigation it looks
to be linked with the visual c install but I cannot see what the solution is.

Thanks
Peter

From a previous thread, someone found this. A complicating factor, is the usage
of a registry cleaner.

Hi Paul,

I have already been through this thread and tried all solutions for a fix
without any success. The software has never worked since I installed it thus
the thread does not apply in relation to a registry cleaner.

Thanks for the response but unfortunatrly it is not the solution i'm looking
for.
