does installing the 96.85 drivers give you the gaming speed back, right now
i'm running on the default 96.86 wddm drivers that were installed with vista
during installation. I cannot play any of my games because it acts like i'm
using a plain video card.

No the 96.86 drivers are I believe are identical or almost identical to the
96.85 drivers. I suggest that you read the release notes for the 96.85
drivers as they may give you some better insight to your problem. I have
seen reports that the 5xxx cards will run under the latest Vista Beta
Drivers even though it is not documented that they will. In any case they
have other missing performace and functionality problems.

i couldnt find any drivers or documentation on the 96.85 drivers, they were
installed by default on my windows vista installation as WDDM, are there any
drivers that would give me the speed that i had when i used Windows XP, none
of my games work correctly and i have emailed Nvidia and they said there will
be no other drivers released for the FX 5xxx Series since it is now obsolete.
