Problem with external links Ex97-Ex2002

Hi all,

We are currently migrating our Excel 97 users to Excel 2002. We encounter a
big problem with an important Excel file.

This file contains links to other files and is send by e-mail to some
people. When they open it they recieve the quuestion to update the links or
to not update the links. At this point you can the correct values in the
background. When they choose to not update the values (they don't have
access to the source files) Excel 2002 still converts all values to #HREF!
In Excel 97 this works correctly

It looks like the 'don't update button just doesn't work...

Just installed SP3 of Office XP and still the same problem

xl2002 will recalculate any workbook that was created in earlier versions when
you open it.

The only suggestion I have is to save that workbook using xl2002. xl2002 should
see that as a "current" workbook and not want to recalculate on opening.

Then your cells _should_ retain their values.
