problem with drive letters

i have an hp media center edition computer, i came with 1 160gb hdd, 1 dvd-rw, and 1 cd rom, the drive letters are as follo
c: for the syste
d: for the recovery partitio
e: for the dvd burne
f: for the cdro

and i have this computer conected to a novell network, because of a program that we use in the company, i need the letter f: available for a map drive on the server, i have use the computer management utility and changed the letter for the cdrom to L: and it works fine until i restart or turn off the computer, then all the drive letters return to its original position, how can i make this changes permanent?

Not quite sure where you are changing the dive letter you need to go to


Control panel

Choose Classic view!
Administrative Tools
Computer Management
Disk Management
Right Click on the Drive you want to change and select Change drive letter

That should do it.

Be aware that any programs that were installed using that drive letter may
have problems if they look for files from the CD for Repair
