Problem with copying files to cd-rw

Hi, after unsuccessfully copying some files to a blank cd-rw the dvd-rw drive
stopped working as follows:
It won't read any cd/dvd put into the drive.
The status for the drive is ok.
I tried disable/enable the drive from hardware dialog but didn't help.
When I tried to double click on the drive, it always shows somthing like
'write files to cd' as first item on the left pane.

Any clues?

Have you rebooted since the problem developed?
