Hi everyon

It’s my first time posting on here and I really need some help solvin
my computer

I’ve got a P3-450 Windows 98 computer with a Samsung SP0812N (master
and a western (slave)

Last week I installed the drivers for my new digital camera and als
installed DirectX Version 10 (as advised by the camera manufacture)
All was working fine and I closed down as per normal. The followin
day I booted up the computer and the message ‘Operating system no
found’ in the DOS kind of text style was displayed. After scratchin
my head I decided to reformat my Western 13Gb HHD and swap the HDD
around hoping to access the Samsung SP0812N data that way but th
computer simply does nothing when the Samsung HHD (slave mode) i
attached to the system. So I have tried to change the BIOS setting
for the Samsung HHD from ‘Auto’ to something similar to the Wester
and the computer reboots into Windows 98 but the Samsung HDD is stil
not being listed

I’m a bit lost and I’m hoping someone can solve the problem

Many thanks for your tim

If the computer can't see it, the drive is dead.

I've placed the jumper in the slave position and without.
Got the WD set to "Master with slave"? Don't set it to "Master" only.
Also, ensure you have the 80-conductor ide cable--not the 40-conductor.

the orginal cable was a '40' but tried the '80' - no luck :(
